John Podesta and Ali Zaidi join the White House team.
President Joe Biden has appointed two new leaders to his climate change team. John Podesta joins the White House team to implement the portions of the Inflation Reduction Act related to climate change. Ali Zaidi will become the domestic climate advisor when Gina McCarthy steps down on September 15. Mr. Podesta served in the administrations of both Presidents Clinton and Obama in similar capacities, and Mr. Zaidi was the former deputy to McCarthy.
“Under Gina McCarthy and Ali Zaidi’s leadership, my administration has taken the most aggressive action ever, from historic legislation to bold executive actions, to confront the climate crisis head-on,” President Biden stated. He also said that Mr. Podesta’s climate and government background “mean we can truly hit the ground running to take advantage of the massive clean energy opportunity in front of us.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to seek God’s wisdom as he selects people to appoint to his administration.
- For Ali Zaidi as he assumes the role of White House Climate Advisor.
- That John Podesta would be led by the Lord as he implements the president’s climate agenda.
